Brief Description

Ensuring the proper functioning of the economy and market competition is a matter of concern to everyone and involves many different actors and stakeholders. In this context, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) organises a conference with the participation of public bodies, academics and HCC’s representatives to inform citizens about the Authority’s competences and discuss different aspects of the green and sustainable economy, in particular in the waste management and recycling sectors.

The conference is divided into two thematic sessions. The first session focuses on competences and cooperations aimed at ensuring a comprehensive protection of an economy-wide market competition. The second session is dedicated on the transition to the green economy, with special focus on waste management and recycling activities and their connection with competition law, also including the presentation of the relevant HCC’s Interim Report, published in July 2024 (available here).
