Summary of Decision |
The Chamber of the Hellenic Competition Commission unanimously cleared, pursuant to Article 8(3) of the Greek Competition Act 3959/2011, the concentration which concerns the acquisition of sole control over CYTA HELLAS by VODAFONE. The Commission decided that the concentration in question, while falling within the scope of Article 6(1) of the Greek Competition Act 3959/2011, does not raise any serious doubts as to its compatibility with merger control rules in the relevant market i.e. the sale of televised content (including broadcasting rights and the sale of subscription TV services). The Commission decided that the provision of combined offers: a) landline telephone services, internet access within the eurozone and subscription TV, and b) landline telephone services, internet access within the eurozone, subscription TV and mobile telephone services, will be investigated by the National Telecommunications and Postal Services Commission, as part of the cooperative effort led by the two independent bodies, as provided for in the written provisions. |
