Summary of Decision |
The competent Chamber of the Hellenic Competition Commission, in the context of examining the complaint of the company “Bookstores COSMOS M. Flora” unanimously decided that “Thessaloniki’s Booksellers Association” and the companies IANOS S.A. and ATHANASIOS FLOROS S.A. infringed article 1 of L. 703/1977, through deciding to apply a common discount policy. In particular, the HCC considered that the above-mentioned involved companies had entered into agreements/harmonized practices, while the Thessaloniki’s Booksellers Association issued relevant decisions, which were part of a sole/unified plan to eliminate discounts or restrict these based on the retail price of the books sold in the prefecture of Thessaloniki, fixed by publishers, in order to limit or distort competition between the members of the Association. |
