In November 2019, the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Hellenic Competition Commission held a meeting with Mr. Ioannis Masoutis, in his capacity as President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and Vice President of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece (KEE), thereby recognizing the mutual interest of the parties for the operation of healthy competition and the need to further enhance the cooperation between them for the benefit of consumers and economic development.
The main topic of the meeting was the strengthening of the existing close cooperation between the Hellenic Competition Commission with the CCB and the KEE. The Competition Commission appreciates the important role of the Chambers in a well-functioning competitive market. With the aim to strengthen the role of entrepreneurs and professionals and train them on competition matters, the HCC intends to assist and actively participate in the training activities of the Chambers on the work and role of the Hellenic Competition Commission, so as to inform and educate the members of the Chambers on the application and implementation of competition law.
