A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) and the and the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), with the aim to consolidate and strengthen their cooperation.
The parties recognize the need for cooperation and synergies aimed at the promotion, implementation, encouragement and active support of their educational and research activities.
The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in a special ceremony held at the HCC’s stand in the 87th TIF, on 11 September 2023, by the Dean of the AUTH’s Faculty of Law, Mr. Panagiotis, and the Vice President of the HCC, Ms. Hara Nikolopoulou. The President of the HCC, Mr. Ioannis Lianos, also addressed the signing ceremony via teleconference.
In pursuance of the Memorandum’s objectives, the parties agreed, in particular, on a joint action plan including, inter alia, cooperation in academic, research and broader scientific activities and know-how exchange, the design and development of co-financed joint actions or programmes, the development of a special "internship programme" for students (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral or postdoctoral) of the AUTH’s Faculty of Law at the HCC’s sectoral directorates, the participation in training programmes organized by the HCC for other EU or non-EU competition authorities as well as the development of a programme of targeted initiatives to create a climate of understanding and cooperation between the Parties (thematic meetings, seminars, lectures, workshops).
